Vascular Lab

Utah Vascular Center offers its patients an in-house, non-invasive vascular laboratory to evaluate arteries and veins. These lab can assist your referring physician about blood clots, artery blockages, aneurysms, and other information that may help with diagnosis and treatment of your case. Carotid ultrasound examination utilizes duplex ultrasonography to evaluate the cervical, carotid, and vertebral arteries to determine the location and severity of occlusive disease which may lead to stroke or blindness.

Photoplethysmography examination is a test that uses the light reflected from the skin surface and the red cells below to determine the blood volume of of arteries and veins.

Abdominal ultrasound utilizes duplex ultrasonography to evaluate the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries to determine the presence of occlusive disease and/or aneurysmal dilatation. If an aneurysm is suspected or known, ultrasound will help confirm the presence and measure its size.
